Faith & Finances

For Fully-Funded Faithful Followers Forever On the Field!

How to grow in ‘Practicing Dependence on God’

The 16th Foundational Value of Youth With A Mission is to ‘Practice Dependence on God‘. For some, this trusting may mean seeing financial provision come through a pension payment, business as missions income, or another route, but for the vast majority of us it will mean building a team of ministry partners who provide us with finances & other forms of support.

Ministry Partnership Development (MPD) – also referred to as support raising, friend raising, financial partnership development, donor ministry development, biblical fundraising, and probably some other variants of this in other organisations – is a significant step of faith for any missionary, but many are not equipped to be as effective as they could and should be.

This course looks to train you to become well-grounded in a Biblical view of support raising as well as address obstacles in thinking and feeling that can hold you back from reaching 100% of your financial support goals. It will provide practical insights into developing a budget and a strategy for growing a team of ministry partners by giving personal invitations to be a part of the work of God’s kingdom and actively maintaining relationships with supporters while you are on the field.

An Overview of What the Course Covers

Foundations of MPD: Calling to Missions, Money Mindset, Biblical Support Raising, Shifts in Thinking.

Strategy for MPD: Prayer, Considering Who, Financial Planning, Scheduling, Accountability

Lectures

The course is built around a series of lectures that will equip you in the different aspects of MPD.

These will give you a Biblical foundation for your calling, money use, and support raising, as well as equip you to plan your journey to full funding, and prepare to meet and share with potential ministry partners.

They will also help you consider how to maintain relationships on the field, how to deal with potential obstacles, and how to keep growing through it all.

Assignments

Once you have sat through a section of teaching, there will be follow up assignments related to that area that you will need to spend time completing.

Some of these assignments are more reflective, to see how you are being challenged to grow by the Biblical teachings that are covered.

Others are more practical, where you will start to develop your own plans and preparation for seeking out the potenitial ministry partners that you feel that God is leading you to invite.
